James D. Savage, DDS,

DIPLOMATE OF THE AMERICAN BOARD OF ORAL AND MAXILLOFACIAL SURGEONS, joined the Associates for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 1985 and went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, graduating as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) in 1989. After graduation, Dr. Savage began a four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the MetroHealth Medical Center (the former Metropolitan General Hospital) in Cleveland, Ohio, with rotations in anesthesia, general surgery, plastic surgery otolaryngology and emergency medicine. He was the recipient of the Eugene P. Wenzke Award for outstanding resident in 1993.

Dr. Savage was appointed senior instructor of surgery, division of oral and maxillofacial surgery, at the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine and the MetroHealth Medical Center. He acted as full-time attending surgeon within the training program before leaving academics for private practice in the Louisville, Kentucky area. Dr. Savage is currently practicing in Medford and Grants Pass. He is currently on staff at Providence Medford Medical Center and Rogue Regional Medical Center. He is certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. His clinical interests include facial trauma, temporomandibular joint surgery and dental implants.

A Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Dr. Savage is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Western Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Academy of Osseointegration, the Oregon Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Southern Oregon Dental Society, the Oregon Dental Association, the Catholic Medical Association, the American Academy of Periodontology, the International Congress of Oral Implantology and the American Dental Association. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.

Dr. Savage and his wife, Jackie, have four children. They enjoy skiing, hiking, golfing, fishing and hunting.
