Rajiv Rajagopal, DMD
For more than two decades, Dr. Rajiv Rajagopal has been dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality oral surgery care to patients throughout Southern Oregon. Known for his meticulous surgical technique and warm, personable nature, Dr. Rajagopal takes pride in helping patients feel comfortable and well-informed every step of the way.
Dr. Rajagopal joined Associates for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in 2000 and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a credential that represents the highest level of training and expertise in the specialty.
Education & Surgical Training
Dr. Rajagopal earned his Bachelor of Science degrees in Exercise Physiology and Community Health from Utah State University before attending Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry, where he received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) degree.
While at OHSU, he was recognized for his excellence in oral surgery and anesthesiology, receiving both the Bernadette A. Scully Award and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons Award.
Dr. Rajagopal completed his advanced training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York, a Level I trauma center where he gained extensive experience managing complex surgical cases. His residency training included rotations in:

Life Outside the Office
Outside of the operating room, Dr. Rajagopal is known among friends, family, and the AOMS team as an enthusiastic cook who loves bringing people together through food. He frequently cooks for church events, weddings, and gatherings with friends, and has recently been perfecting the art of cooking with his wood-fired outdoor pizza oven. His BBQ and homemade cakes are legendary!
A loyal Utah State Aggies football fan, Dr. Rajagopal also enjoys traveling with his family, with favorite destinations including Turks and Caicos and Hawaii.
When he’s not cooking or traveling, you might find him fishing, skiing, playing pickleball, or sharing stories about two topics that have long fascinated him: sharks and Bigfoot.
Dr. Rajagopal believes that great surgical care is about more than technical skill—it’s about earning a patient’s trust, taking time to answer questions, and helping people feel at ease during what can often be a stressful experience.
