Testimonials
Our office has received many wonderful thank you cards from our valued patients. Here are some examples of what our patients had to say about their experience:
Truth be told, I don’t remember a thing about my accident. All the details of what happened that day I got second hand. All I know is one minute I was having fun jet skiing on the lake and the next I’m waking up 3 days later in ICU. Then waking up a little later thinking another day had passed and being very confused. When we backed the trailer up and got the jet skis in the water that day, I remember there was another family waiting to unload their boat behind us. That was the only boat on that side of the lake that day. I know we were racing that day and that’s all I remember of the lake. I was told I turned in front of the other Jet Ski. We collided and the other Jet Ski jumped the one I was driving, tearing the handlebars off and striking me in the face.
The blow from the impact threw me over into the lake and I skipped across the water. I bobbed face down in the water unconscious until I was pulled out by the family we had seen earlier on their boat. The woman on the boat, a registered nurse, her son, a sheriff, and even the kids knew CPR. I started breathing spontaneously on the boat and was soon airlifted from the lake to hospital. I think about that day often. In the blink of an eye my life had changed but thanks to friends, family, and others I would meet along the way I knew I’d be just fine.
That one lost moment resulted in numerous facial injuries including several missing teeth and lots to talk about. The first step to recovery was surviving the liquid diet.
It has been nearly ten years since an afternoon at the lake nearly took my life. A miscalculation on Jet Ski left me with multiple fractures to my skull, a crushed eye socket, broken jaw and knocked out eight teeth. Thanks to the incredible talent of Dr. Raj and Dr. Savage, most of the injuries I sustained are almost completely invisible.
Since that day virtually nothing holds me back, and I try to live life to its fullest. I volunteer in the Latin community and various other charities when I can. My family and I are forever grateful for the help and support of the doctors and staff at Associates for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The work they have done for my facial injuries and dental implants have allowed eat my favorite foods (corn on the cob, apples, carne asada) and smile again.

Thank you!
Arturo

Some individuals may consider a maxillary molar extraction a minor procedure, but for me, it was a significant procedure, and I felt the care team respected that. My connection started with Katlyn, who scheduled the initial consultation at the Grants Pass office. She was courteous throughout the conversation and answered all my questions, which she replicated when I arrived at my first appointment. After Annie took me to the exam room, it quickly became apparent that she had read my intake paperwork because she knew that I was in recovery for alcoholism. She developed an excellent rapport with me, which helped ease my anxiety. Dr. Raj was sensitive to the effect of the fears that I expressed to him and demonstrated true cooperative patient-provider decision-making. Upon my request, Annie agreed to schedule my surgery on a day that she would be at the Grants Pass office. Additionally, she recommended that I consider nitrous oxide to help me during the procedure, which was pivotal because my anesthesia options are limited by alcoholism. Approximately 1 week before the procedure, I called the office to speak with Annie, which Katlyn promptly arranged for me. Annie answered my questions about the procedure and then put me in touch with Alex to discuss the anesthesia plan. Alex returned my call shortly thereafter and answered my numerous questions. During the conversation, the answer to one of my questions required Dr. Raj’s approval. Within about an hour, she talked to him and called me back with the answer, which again demonstrated Dr. Raj’s cooperative patient-provider decision-making. A few days later, Alex thoughtfully called to let me know that her schedule had changed, and Melanie would be providing the anesthesia care.
On the day of the procedure, I was warmly greeted at the front desk and, soon after, taken to the operating room by Annie, who introduced me to Melanie after I was settled in. Melanie explained that she had read about my case, which was readily apparent in our conversation. She proceeded to implement the plan with great care and skill. Throughout the procedure, the team kept me as comfortable as possible while performing their roles efficiently and effectively. Immediately after completion, Dr. Raj expressed genuine warmth about the somewhat challenging extraction, given that the tooth had undergone root canal treatment over 20 years ago. Annie’s postoperative care instructions were precise, understandable, and very helpful, and several hours later, I received a call from someone at the office to check on me. The care I received was exceptional from start to finish.
Warmest regards,
